What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding Post Intake Of Unwanted-72?
sir i had an unprotected sex with my gf on 9th march just after the periods.just before sex i gave her unwanted 72 after 9 days on 18th she started bleeding and after 13 days of bleeding she started bleeding again..plz tell what is happening i am worried is she pregnent?

Vaginal bleeding after intake of an emergency contraceptive pill such as unwanted 72 is not cause for concern. The bleeding she had 9 days after unprotected sex on 18th must be breakthrough bleeding. This bleeding is a normal feature of intake of unwanted 72 & occurs within 2-3 weeks of pill intake. This means that intake of unwanted 72 was successful in preventing pregnancy.
The bleeding she had again after 13 days of first bleeding must be her periods. This bleeding would last 3-7 days as a normal menstrual perioid. You should not worry as she is definately not pregnant after getting a menstual period
An emergency contraceptive should not be used as regular method of contraception. It is intended as for emergency purposes like accidents, unplanned sex, etc. Emergency contraceptive pill could cause irregular & delayed periods & other harmful effects including infertility. Next time use regular contraceptive pill or condoms for prevention of unwanted pregnancy.
