What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding While On Contraceptive Pills?
I am on birth control (not for pregnancy protection) because my Period was super heavy and hard to deal with. The way I m taking them, is that I skip the placebo week and go strait to another pack so I don t get my period at all. I ve been taking them for about 5-6 month and so far it s great. I got sick a couple weeks ago and forgot to take my pill for 3 days. Since then, I have had a VERY light period but it s enough that it s annoying to deal with and its not going away (it s been about 10 days). I asked my friend who is also on birth control and she said I should just stop with the pills and just go on my period and once it is over start Taking my pills again. Is that the way to go? Or should I just keep taking my pill and it eventually will go away? Thanks
Once you continue to take the pills the bleeding would stop eventually, faster than it would if you discontinued the medications for a short time.
You may want to speak to your doctor about the continuous usage, most persons take a break every few months then restart. Your scheduled should be clarified.
I hope this helps
