What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding While On Oral Contraceptive Pills?
Hi doctor i have a problem with my wife we are married but i hate using condom while intercourse so we had sex without condom and for a year it was good but now she is having problem i used pills may be in a year she had about 25-30 pills and now she is bleeding and a long blood like thing came out from vagina (5in total till now ) blood is odour what will be the solution i am afraid for checkup thank you plz reply
Prolonged vaginal bleeding is commonly a side effect of oral CP. Since your wife has been using it for a long time she is now having hormonal problems. Get her clinically examined by a gynecologist, it will be better for her to discontinue oral contraception for a while. Clinical examination and history will help to exclude organic causes of bleeding.
She will have to go through a targeted laboratory evaluation and imaging tests. Pregnancy and the misuse of OCPs are frequent causes of abnormal uterine bleeding. Her treatment will depend on the report of the test obtained & clinical evaluation.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
