Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
im 33 and have often had irregular periods, I have an 8 year old daughter and have had my tubes clamped for 7.5 years...missing a few months of a period is common but this month I seem to be making up for lost time, I have been bleeding for 3 weeks and through 2 boxes of tampons....
If you have been bleeding for 3 weeks, I would advice you to not ignore your situation and visit your gynaecologist since you have menorrhagia (Abnormally high menstrual bleeding). It can be caused due to several reasons such as Hormonal imbalance, uterine fibroids, dysfunctional ovaries, polyps, etc.
It most probably has nothing to do with your clamped tubes.
But since you mention that you have had irregular periods in the past, my advice is to get a hormonal assay and an ultrasound to rule out any structural abnormality.
Hope this helps! Please do let me know if you have any more questions!
