What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding?

I have had implenon for 10 years now replacing every 2-3 years, never had any issues with period, would it get it maybe once a year for 3-5 days, never had any issues with hormones or anything either. I did HGC diet in December and get my period and then regular for 2 cycles and then stopped again. I commenced a new round of HCG and my period came back, now I have been bleeding for 1 month straight, I stopped the diet after 2 weeks to see if my period would stop but it hasn t. I have been extremely hormonal also which has never been an issue. I am not sure what to do.

Hi,

Prolonged menstrual bleeding could be due to many causes:
1. Fibroids
2. Using progestin only pills
3. Hyperthyroidism
4. Coagulation profile abnormalities
5. Endometrial hyperplasia.

I suggest that you perform vaginal ultra sound and thyroid function tests if the ultrasound is normal.
