Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I’d been experiencing bleeding for 5 weeks at a time for several months went to my gp who prescribed northisterone to help regulate my cycle I i take 2x 5mg tablets daily. Which I commenced 11 days ago after 2 days my bleeding had stopped which was great today I’ve noticed I’m bleeding again as if I’ve got my period and I’d consider it heavy for me. I was advised to take the northisterone for 20 days then allow for a withdrawal bleed of 5 days then recommence the tablets. Not sure why I’m bleeding again is this normal.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I can understand your concern. After stopping Norethisterone, it is common to experience withdrawal bleeding. So along that you can take tablet Tramexamic acid after consultation.
Kindly do ultrasound abdomen and pelvis. So kindly consult with gynecologist for detailed examination.
Take Care.
