What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Spotting After A Hysterectomy?
I had the robotic procedure for a hystorectomy done on February 24th, 2016, I don t have a follow up til April 6th, I was just wondering how long should I be bleeding for., it s not heavy, just spotting to light, but I was not told how long it would continue, and should I go see my obgyn
Hello , Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com and thanks for showing trust in us . Spotting or light bleeding is normal after Hysterectomy procedure and as a general guideline if it persists more than 6 week after intervention then you should consult your healthcare providers straight away . A normal bleeding is a result of healing of the tissues after surgical intervention .Vascular abnormality , slipped sutures and hypersensitivity reaction to suture material also can cause bleeding issues which should be ruled out . I would suggest you to consult your healthcare providers straighaway. I wish you good health . Best Regards, DR.S.TOMAR
