What Causes Prominent Red Rash On Arm Radiating To Elbow?
My adult daughter got a thorn in her finger from a bush 5 days ago. She now has a red line running up her arm to her elbow that feels warm to the touch and is tender like a sunburn. We are assuming this is infection, but how urgently should this be treated?

Her symptoms could be suggestive of a phlebitis (a vein infection). I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam. She may need antibiotic treatment.
