What Causes Prominent Vein In Ankle Along With Numbness?

I was exercising about a month ago and may have pulled something in my right foot. It feels like a blood vessel is moving over my inside ankle bone. I went to my GP and he suggested using Dr Scholls. I wore these for 3 days and now my 1st 3 toes on the right foot go numb. My foot feels better when it's elevated. If I sit up and lean forward, the numbness becomes acute, to the point where I can barely walk. I went to a Podiatrist and he gave me a prescription for an anti-inflammatory. What's your opinion and will the drugs heal my ankle?
