Hi- Suddenly my body. all of it is full of green veins which have appeared 2 days ago. I am 30 years old, fair skin an obese. I was on a proteins diet for 2 weeks, only eating proteins chocolate bars ( with 0 carbs and very low fat), and last week, I was only drinking 500 ml of water per day with no reason, but thinking of my last week, this is what I can remember: Not drinking enough water. Could this be a reason why these veins have appeared? I am afraid there is a problem with my heart which leads to these veins appearing suddenly ( or at least I just noticed them). Please could you help me? Thanks a lot.
Hi, prominent blue or green veins are usually normal in fair skinned people specially women. If I see a photo then I could get a better idea. You could show it to a Doctor who could examine you and advice you better. I would not think they would be related to a heart problem so do not worry about that. But, it would be better to get a professional consultation. Your recent change in diet should not affect it though decreased fluid intake could cause some prominent veins. If you want further advice you can send me a photo by asking me a direct question on my profile page. Take care, Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
