Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just noticed my 8 year old sons veins on his arms are showing through his skin. I never noticed it like this before. He is light moca colour skinned as he is half Hispanic from Dominican decent. Should I get it checked out?? They are blue and suddenly very visible going from the wrist to his shoulder. He is thin built but I have never seen them so prominently. They do not bulge out just flat under the skin mostly showing at the inside part of his arm.
I do not think it to be worrisome. It may be just due to presence of low subcutaneous tissue below the skin, that these are more visible. If your son has no symptom related to it, you need not doing any thing special for it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
