Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a genetic blood disorder with no name. It causes an imbalance in my protein s and c. My hematologist says it is similar to Laden Factor -5. I have had 1 DVT previously and I currently have my second one. My Mother is is an incapacitated stroke victom fron this condidtion. I have a history of high blood pressurs. At the time of my first DVT ; my family Dr had me on Lisinopril (with a diuretic). That Dr subsequently died and my new Dr took me off Lisinopril (w/diuretic), because he said with my blood - the diuretic lead to the DVT. He put me on Bystolic. The Bystolic never consistantly controlled my BP. I then tried a calcium blocker..did not control BP. I then went back to Lisinopril (without diuretic), it controlled my BP..but now after 2 months back on Lisinopril my DVT is back. Is it the Lisinopril..or just my blood disorder? Should I try a different blood pressure medication?
Your protein S and C deficiency is as a result of ongoing loss of protein excretion in the urine due to chronic renal insufficiency. Your lisinopril was given to you for the control of hypertension in the kidney. You can change to Tab candesartan 16mg.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
