Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi , i have made renal biopsy about two weeks ago as i am experiencing protein in urine , i still have no results in hands as still waiting , but i am very upset as dont know much about protenuria . its a serious desease ? or there is always treatment for this condition ? is treatment for life ? or for short term ? Thanks Vincent
There are many medical conditions that can cause proteinuria. Both diabetes and high blood pressure can cause damage to the kidneys, which leads to proteinuria.
Other types of kidney disease unrelated to diabetes or high blood pressure can also cause the protein to leak into the urine. The use of medications can also cause proteinuria.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
