What Causes Psoriasis Like Itchy And Raised Skin On The Body?
Hello, I have a question about a skin condition that is bilateral mostly on arms, legs and various other parts of body. It s psoriasis like (raised skin with defined borders) and varies from small clusters to 1 to 2 cm patches. Very itchy and color ranges from dark to light red. Cortizone cream has worked, but outbreaks continue to come back. Any ideas?
Psoriasis is certainly a possibility. It might respond temporarily to cortisone. However, it's a chronic condition that tends to come back. Some types of fungal infections can also be spread out like that. Itching might be decreased from cortisone. Secondary syphilis can cause all sorts of rashes. There are a number of other skin conditions that can appear similar to psoriasis. Treatments will differ depending on the specific diagnosis. Your best bet if this continues is to see a dermatologist and get a specific diagnosis. Then you will be able to treat it correctly. Hope this helps.
