What Causes Puffiness Under Ears With History Of Having Mass Removed From Salivary Glands?

I had surgery several years ago to remove a mass from my saliva gland after having my algama fillings replaced. Afterwards it leaked into my cheek and I had to have a drain put in until it healed and stopped leaking. Over the past few weeks I have been feeling wet around my ear after eating and I just noticed that it is puffy under my ear like it has started leaking again inside my cheek. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for asking the question.
I think you should have a follow-up visit to the surgeon who had done your surgery. Proper examination and few investigations such as MRI of the area is needed for further evaluation. Doctor should rule out the infection and blockage of the duct. I don't know the details of the surgical procedures, so it is difficult to give you a proper advice. But have a follow up visit and see your surgeon so that he can do some investigations and start you on medications or take further step in the management.
Best wishes.
