What Causes Puffy Eyelids And Shortness Of Breath While Climbing Stairs?
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING SHORTNESS OF BREATH GOING UP STAIRS FOR THE LAST 3 WEEKS (I WAS SEEN THIS MORNING BY THE CARDIO TECH TO CHECK MY PACEMAKER/DEFIBULTAOR, I HAVE ATRIAL FLUTTER and have been in flutter on and off since 12/12/2015... My other symptom is my eye lids are puffy and never have been. Dr. Gerraro checked out the info from this morning and said that is not characteristic of Atrial flutter and so I made an appt. with cardio for 1/15/16... nothing to do in the mean time and not in any danger... so what it is? Labs are normal too...

Hi,
The information about your use of pacemaker and defibrillator along with swelling of eye lids and unusual heaviness of breath on exertion. Signals possibility of affection of heart as a complication. You should have a check up consultation with a cardiologist and get expert advice. Till then you should take rest. Avoid climbing stairs or any other exertion. Continue with medicines advised and attend ER in case of repeat problem.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
