What Causes Pulling Sensation In The Calf Muscles?
I have a calf muscle that keeps on pulling after I try to resume exercising. I rested it for a week and it was feeling better, so I tried to run again today. I felt two slight pops (seemed like bubbles bursting rather than very sharp pops, etc.) and had to stop running. Should I continue trying to rest it, or do I need to have it looked at further?

Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your query. The persistent calf muscle pulling after a weeks rest suggest graver injury to muscles & needs extended rest. Calf muscles can bet torn during muscle pull while exercising. When the number of muscle fibers is more ... it can take 4-6 weeks for full improvement. Mostly rest/ cold pack, compressing bandages & removing the bandage in night & keep it elevated Along with over the counter anti inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen help a lot. Use heal pads/crutches while moving around to avoid weight bearing Consult physiotherapist for specific exercises/ massage ... if applicable & ultrasound for earlier relief. Start normal running only after the Physiotherapist allows . Thanks
