What Causes Pulsating Feeling And Irritation In Leg Post Venus Ablation?
I have had 2 and a half treatments for my legs because I was having heaviness in both legs. The treatment was called Venus Abalation. After having a last treatment to my left leg which was mid way. A catheter was inserted above the left knee up to the groin area. I am still feeling the pulsating in the front of the leg and I also feel a cool draft on the left side of my calf. It is irritating especially when I am trying to sleep at night.
Pulsating feeling & irritation in the leg post venous ablation occurs due to bruise, nerve damage, inflammation or soreness. This is a part of the reaction (side effect) to the treatment & settles in a few weeks, 2-3 weeks but more in some. You can take anti-inflammatory medicine for relieve of pain.
Compression bandages may be helpful. If you are in discomfort still the n you are suggested to get a follow up clinical examination done to detect any complications. Your treatment will depend on your clinical condition & factor causing discomfort.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
