What Causes Pulsating Pain In The Knee Cap?

I have pain in my knee cap and it I can feel it pulsating. I have seen a sports medicine doctor and took an xray and said he could not see anything wrong. I am a runner and when I run I don t feel it but when I stop running I feel it. Do you think it could be some type of fracture?

Hi. This could be a problem with the cartilage behind the kneecap called chondromalacia patella and you need an MRI scan to check for that. If that's the case, you may need arthroscopic surgery for it
