What Causes Purple Colored Bump Inside Of Bottom Lip?

I HAVE A BUMP ON THE INSIDE OF MY BOTTOM LIP THAT IS PURPLE AND MOVES LIKE ITS A POPPED BLOOD VESSEL. THIS WEEKEND IT GOT BIGGER, I MUST HAVE BITTEN IT AND NOW IT SHOWS ON THE FRONT OF MY LIP. DO YOU THINK IT IS A CHERRY ANGIOMAS AND WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR SHOULD I SEE?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms the purple coloured lump on the inner side of lower lip can most commonly be a MUCOCELE which is formed due to either clogged duct of minor salivary gland or ruptured duct of the gland leading to formation of a lump..
Other cause can be AV Malformation or Hemangioma..

You need not to worry as both these conditions are treatable and you need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and treatment depends on the Final diagnosis..

In case if it is a Mucocele that is growing in size and not resolving on its own, then it has to be removed by surgical excision..

In case of AV malformation either surgery or use of Sclerozing agents like Sodium tetradecyl sulphate to shrink the lesion by doing Sclerotherapy can help..
