What Causes Purple Colored Spot On Penis?

My 16 years old son has told me he has a spot on his penis which has now gone purple/black. I have taken him to a medical centre and he has been told he has Pyeronies Disease. I have looked on the internet and am now more confused. What should I do?

Hello and welcome.

I hope you have at least understood what Peyronie's disease is, if not then it is the formation of scar tissue under the skin usually in the sponges or soft tissue part of your penis. Treatment usually includes the use of medications or surgery. But sexual life is rarely affected, erections and other activities pertaining to the penis are mostly fine. Rarely pain during erections is experienced but is mild and tolerable.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

General & Family Physician Dr. Dr. Michelle Gibson's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be best to take him to see a urologist.

A urologist would be the specialist who would be able to determine if he does have peyronie's disease and would be able to initiate any necessary treatment.

I hope this helps
