Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pus Filled Black Spot Along With Bad Odour On Back?
I had a black spot (probably the size of the head of a needle) on my back the other day. I do not believe there was a bump, just the visible speck on my back. My girlfriend has been trying to get it out and squeeze it for a few days. Well tonight she had some luck. When she squeezed it, a cream colored pus came out with little bits of what seemed to be hair inside. The pus smelled pretty bad. I am sure this isn t anything to concern myself with, but was inquiring what exactly it could be. Thanks. I hope to hear from a Doc soon.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A black colored spot wilack head is formed by plugging off of pore of sebaceous gland. Oozing out of pus is indicative of bacterial infection. Bits of hair shaft seen in the pus could be due to inflammation of hair follicles. Thus, to summarize there was a focus of bacterial infection. You can apply an antibiotic ointment on the pus filled lesion and oral antibiotic if required. I suggest to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
