What Causes Pus Filled Boils On Head After Chemotherapy?

Hi My step daughter had 4 treatments of chemo, hair fallen, breast removed. She has developed lots of boils on her head with pus. Now on strong antibiotics. Lots of pain in the head. She is diabetic with insulin injections twice a day. Why the boils and pain in the head?

Hello,

I am sorry for the suffering and the hard time you and your family is going through. These boils and pain on the head are most likely due to infection, which has resulted from low immunity.

This is a common thing to happen in patients who are on chemotherapy. since she is diabetic, please get her sugars checked, high sugars add to increased chances of infection. Kindly inform your treating oncologist about the same.
