Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Ive had think bump on my left breast for about 2 maybe 3 months now and I keep getting puss outta it. It wont go away and im not sure if its a cyst. There is no odor then again its just a small amount of puss I cant tell. It hurts but also feel like a bee string at the same time. Should I get it looked at?
See there are many reasons for the breast lump. It can be due to infection in the breast tissue, lipoma ( collection of fatty tissue), intraductal papilloma ( swelling of the breast duct ), or sometimes a cyst (fluid-filled swelling ). even trauma sometimes also causes such a kind of lump.
Although most of the breast swellings are not that risky, I feel that you should not ignore it and get it investigated. go for complete blood count, CRP, ultrasound, or mammogram of breast and if need tissue diagnosis ( biopsy ).
This will help to know the exact reason of the swelling and then treatment can be planned accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Milinda Gupta
