What Causes Pus Filled Purplish Pimples On The Face?
Hellos, I ve had acne for a while and gone through numerous antibiotics, for the last 6 months I ve had a purple lump on my cheek which feels soft like there is liquid inside, prior to this orginally there was a spot there filled with blood, a few weeks ago I got given antibiotics to make the lump go away which the lump reduced but the purple still dark and noticeable, the last few days the lump became sore and uncomfortable so like most people I reached for the nearest needle snd popped the lump, scarily the spot poured with a stream of blood and pus which seemed to leak for around 5 minutes , what s causing the purpleness? Will it ever go away?
It may be cystic acne with secondary bacterial infection. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would recommend you to take a course of antibiotics for few weeks with anti-inflammatory drugs. Apply antibiotic cream. Cleanse the face with antiseptic solution. Intralesional steroid injection may be considered after the clearance of infection. A long term Minocycline 50 mg daily may be taken to prevent the new lesions of acne.
Hope this helps.
