Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
As per your descriptions,it looks to be having either boil or furuncle or cytic acne over the chin but a single look at the lesion will confirm the diagnosis.
It occurs commonly due to bacterial infection (mostly
staphylococcus aureus) in a person with Poor nutrition or Poor hygiene or might be problems with the immune system or diabetes or obesity etc.
Tab.Phexin 500mg (1st generation
Cephalosporin) is a broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic and it is very well effective to cure it.
You can also be given other broad spectrum antibiotics like 2nd and 3rd cephalosporin or fluroquinolones (
levofloxacin or ofloxacin) as per your doctor's advice.
Apart from medical treatment, if boil is larger than 2 to 3 inch then it must be treated with
incision and drainage with warm compression and strict cleanliness of the wound.
Small boils could be treated with proper gram-positive antibiotic coverage for 3 to 5 days small course. Longer course of antibiotics must be avoided as it will lose the effectiveness of the drug or might develop resistance to the bacteria.
It would be advisable that you
consult dermatologist or surgeon for complete medical history and proper diagnosis of the underlying cause.
Regards,
