What Causes Quick And Sharp Shooting Pain In Vagina During Pregnancy?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I m 33 weeks pregnant and randomly get a quick, sharp shooting pain up my vagina. It doesn t seem to last long but it happens probably once to twice a day. What could this be?

Hello,

Do not worry so much.

Sharp pain in vagina can be the result of normal pregnancy changes.
It may be due to your expanding uterus or may be due to round ligament pain, which are normal physiological process.

But remember that , if the sharp pain is continuous after resting and last longer or associated with heavy vaginal discharge, it may be a matter of concern like ectopic pregnancy.

So if you feel some of this way , best thing is that go to your doctor immediately and discuss with him/her.
