Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my heart has been racing when I lay down to go to bed the last few nights, I also have had difficulty swallowing. I just experienced some slight pains below my chest on the right side, but they are not constant. I do have a cold right now so I m not sure if that could cause these symptoms.
As per your query you have racy heart and difficulty swallowing . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons , but in your case it seems to me that there i probable two reason for your symptoms :-
Firstly symptoms occur due acid reflux disease , which occur due dysfunction of esophageal sphincter . Due to which the acidic content of stomach come upwards .
Secondly it occur due to cardiac problem like angina or arrhythmia .
I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper checkup . Doctor may order ECG , TMT or lipid profile test . Doctor may prescribe dizepam , betaloc , aspirin or may refer you to gastroenterologist if he/she find this problem to be related with acid reflux . For now avoid eating spicy and eavy meal specially at night , take light walk after every meal and tale antacid after every meal .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
