Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Radiating Pain And Tingling Sensation From The Shoulder To Fingers?
I am experiencing tingling and pain from my shoulder (under armpit) down to my fingers on just one side. I have widespread pain and tingling on a regular basis and have been in to see my PCP. I am not getting any answers and she won t acknowledge the pain I experience. What can I do on my part? My whole arm feels like it is on fire with the tingling and numbness. Is there any recommendations from you that I can be doing?
Your symptoms point towards some form of Neuropathy / Radiculopathy. It can be due to vitamin deficiencies (Neuropathy). But, involvement of only one limb with such symptoms point towards radiculopathy. You need to get your Cervical spine evaluated at least clinically first and then radialogically (X-ray / MRI). I suggest you speak with PCP for the same and if your part of the world has direct access to Spine Surgeon without referral, you can go for the same.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Kalpajit Banik, Emergency Medicine Specialist
