What Causes Radiating Pain From Ribs To Back After Treated Cough?

Hello I have pain on the right side under my rib going into my back and all around to the left side. I had a cold about a week and a half ago and still have a cough and spitting up yellow mucous. The doctor said my lungs were clear so I'm not sure what it could be. My nose is runny and I'm also seeing a gastro doc next week. Do you think my reflux is just getting worse

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No, I don't think your symptoms are due worsening acid reflux.
Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely.
Coughing causes strain on ribs and intercostal muscles.
So apply warm water pad on affected areas.
Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Avoid movements causing pain.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
If not improving in 1 week then consult doctor and get done chest x ray to rule out internal lung pathology.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
