General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain you describe is typical of the pain due to the nerve roots being pressed. This may happen if you have prolapsed discs that press at the nerves as they come out of the spine.

You will need a good neurological examination to determine if important changes in nerve function are present and if an MRI is needed to rule out spinal stenosis.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
