What Causes Radiating Pain In The Neck While Having Spinal Disc Herniation?

I had a herniated disc between C5 C6 just over a year ago. I have had pain in my neck that radiates down through my upper back and shoulders before and after the fusion surgery. Lately the pain has been increasing. I am wondering what could be causing this pain.

Hi,

Radiating or referred pain is due to nerve passing the pain from its origin. This is due to reaping of nerve by the disc prolapse which is a common phenomenony.

Diagnosis: X ray, MRI, Treatment, Pain killers, Physiotherapy

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
