What Causes Raised Bumps On The Back Of The Neck?

My son has a rash with raised bumps on the back of his neck and in a line across his back in the morning. It disappeared throughout the day. He has been getting these every once in a while in random places. But they usually go away after a while. We are going to check for bed bugs tonight. I am curious if this sounds possibly like a bedbug infestation or if it could be somehting else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what your kid had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to bed bugs or allergic reaction to bedding or any other material. Careful dermatologist review is mandatory. Scabies needs to be excluded as well. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
