What Causes Raised, Itchy And Heart Shaped Rash On The Back Of The Neck?

I have a rash on the back of my neck. It started out as a scratch last month. It s now large and shaped like a heart. It does not hurt, but it itches. It is raised, kind of welty. It s making me feel like I m itchy all over. What does that sound like?

As per your complain the symptoms of rash over the back of neck along with itching an welty appearrence can be due to causes like Hair follicle infection or Folliculitis, allergic reaction, contact Dermatitis caused due to reaction with some hair or skin cosmetic, soap, shampoo, detergent etc, infection over the skin etc..

I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopic examination of scrapings from the lesions, blood test to test infection and allergies etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

In case of allergic reaction you can be advised antiallergics like Levocetrizine or Allegra..
Topical steroid ointments can be advised for relief..
Do cool compresses..

In case of infection oral and topical antibiotics can be advised..
