What Causes Raised Red Patches On The Face And Hands After Vidaza Therapy?
I have MDS. I have completed the sixth round of Vidaza injections. I had a schedule of daily injections for 5 days each month for six months. I have developed a skin rash on my hands and face that is like a raised patch red patch that is about 1/4 inch in diameter. What can I treat this rash with and is it a common side effect of Vidaza therapy? My doctor told me today that up to 15% of patients on Vidaza have skin rash as a side effect but I can t find anything on line to verify this.

It could be an allergic eruption. As the first line of management, you can take antihistamines like Cetirizine for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a physician and get yourself evaluated.
