Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Thank you. Over the past year or so I have noticed random bruises on the tops of my feet. No trauma, injuries or blood thinners. But I m trying to pay more attention to these. I currently have a large bruise on the top of my right foot. I few minutes ago I was standing in the kitchen and I Las I stepped forward my left foot started to hurt. Shooting pain in the middle of my foot everytime I take a step. This happens quite often. I usually brush it of and the pain will subside within a few hours or the next day. I m not sure if this is linked to the bruising I am experiencing so I m gong to keep an eye on it. What are your thoughts?
In absence of susceptible trauma, recurrent bruises indicate possible disturbances with the coagulation pathway involving liver coagulation factors as 2, 7, 9, 10 or platelet disorders.
Kindly consult an expert hematologist for getting basic evaluation with bleeding, clotting and activated partial thromboplastin time, complete blood counts with peripheral smear examination to reveal platelets details.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
