What Causes Random Spots On Body Along With Intermittent Itching?

Hello, I was just diagnosed by a dermatologist with scabies, but am concerned about a misdiagnosis. My problem started with itchy palms for two days, then what looked like tiny bite marks on top of one hand and on both forearms over the following 4 days, while getting hives for about 30 minutes each of the last 4 nights, first on right forearm, then on my chest, and then on my left shoulder. Itching comes and goes... seems to be worse at night, while the hives almost seem to appear right after I start scratching. Two final things: I ve been under tremendous stress lately, and my husband has had no symptoms of rash, hives or itching. What do you think?
