My 9 year old has eyes that have always shift rapidly from side to side like REM since she was a newborn, recently her eyes have begun shifting like a lazy eye. Her right eye will roam to one side while the left eye is looking straight at me. What could this be?
Right eye is amblyopic. to avoid diplopia it is deviating.Refraction is to be done. if required surgery can be done. followed by orthoptic treatment and giving cover to left eye and forcing right eye for fixation. action is to be taken immediately or the squint will be permanent improvement of vision in right eye will not be possible.
