What Causes Rapid Heart Rate While Tapering Off Venlafaxine?

I have recently been titrated down off of venlafaxine er (Effexor xr) and have been titrating up on amitryptyline. I am currently at 150 mg daily of amitriptyline. I have been experiencing a heart rate at around 100 bpm during the day and around 85 bpm when I first wake in the morning. I began experiencing this when I titrated off the venlafaxine. Is this common.....will my resting heart rate return to its normal 75 bpm? I suppose my question is....will this go away?

Hi,

What the medicine you are taking does not cause the change in heart rate if you go on reading the pulse rate on your own without any apparent reason it will go on vary every time and it is may not indicate any abnormality, if you have some doubt regarding the pulse rater then you can see the physician and discuss but read it may cause the panic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
