Hi good day i am 32 years old weight 120lbs and about 5'-4'' in height i have notice for 2 days now that my heart have being beating heavy at time and race just a little. I don't feel tired but i don't like the feeling. I am also teaher and i spent most of the time talking and standing for 7 hours a day. Can you give me some advice as to what might be causing the problem?
I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be related to low blood pressure or cardiac arrhythmia. For this reason, I recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure values and consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:
- a resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for imbalance
- complete blood count for anemia.
An ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring would help exclude possible cardiac arrhythmia.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist
