What Causes Rapid Weight Gain And Foul Smelling Urine Post Recovery From Jaundice?
Hi there i am osama and my age is 19.... 2 years back i had a hepatitis a disease.... a.k.a jaundice... i took some precaution and later every thing became normal.... Bus now since some months i am gaining weight and also have a stinky poo like smell in my urine and the colour of my urine is from brown to red wine colour..... What could be the possible problem
Based on the history you have shared, it seems less likely to be related to your previous episode of jaundice or hepatitis and the current symptoms seems to be arising from urinary tract.
Also if dark colour due to liver causes is suspected, bile pigments may also be present but ultrasound KUB to look for any concretions or any other structural lesions must be done.
Meanwhile keep drinking good amount of waterand cranberry sachet may be helpful at the moment.
Any other renal pathology with red colour urine in young male needs evaluation and shouldn't be ignored.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician

Urinalysis to look for any signs of urinary tract infection or any blood or protien loss in urine should be evaluated.
