What Causes Rash Around Edge Of Adhesive Bandage After Pacemaker Insertion?

my mother just had pacemaker installed onTuesday. She is on cephalexin and crestor. She is developing a rash/irritation around the edge of the adhesive bandage that is painful and also has a red sunburn looking rash just above her ankles that we just notice. We were shopping for a few hours today. Is there something we should do right away for her or can we wait until after the holiday weekend?

Hi welcome to HCM.
Rash around the adhesive plaster for implanted pacemaker could be due to chemical dermatitis to the glue of the adhesive. This need to be of any worry/concern as it resolves spontaneously with time.Incases if its delayed to resolve antihistaminic creams like deslor can be used.It will not interfere with any functions of the pacemaker.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you.
