Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a awful oozing rash at the crease of my thigh on both sides. Hurts bad and is leaking a very very foul smelling greenish pus. My vaginal area does not smell like this, just in the creases of my thighs and groin area. Should I be concerned? I also feel generally ill. What should I do?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A painful rash with oozing out of green colored discharge is suggestive of bacterial infection superimposed on the rash. Firstly a clinical assessment and microbiological examination of the oozing material is required. Microbiological examination of the discharge is needed to identify infectious agent and then prescription of antibiotic to control the infection. After treatment of infection, the cause of rash has to be found out. Rash of this type can occur due to fungal infection or primary skin lesion. Besides fungal infection rashes of this type can occur in allergy. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist / skin specialist after treatment of infection.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
