What Causes Rash On The Face After Taking Vicodin?
I broke my hand and was prescribed vicodin. I have taken two, one last night and one today. I now have a rash on my face. I looked it up and it said this is a severe reaction and to call a dr, but noone is there at 945pm. Ehat shouls i do? Just discontinue taking it, or discontinue and go to the er? I do not have shallow breathing or dizziness and i last took it around 5pm
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
It looks like allergic reaction to either of the ingredients present in Vicodin that is Acetaminophen or hydrocodone.. So as of now stop taking Vicodin and take anti allergics like Levocetrizine to reduce the rashes..
You should consult your Physician who advised you the painkiller so that he can do an allergic test to look for the compatible painkillers and advise you accordingly...
As of now do not take any medication but in case if the symptoms worsen consult an Emergency Room and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
