What Causes Rashes All Over The Body Post Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery?

Hi, Doctor .My mother had an aortic valve replacement surgery 6 days ago, Friday she came home, and Saturday she developed rash all over her body, surgeon suggested Benadryl, it helped for 8 hours, and in the morning she had hives again all over. Please let me know what could it be, and how to help her Thank you Leah

Hello
Since your mother had aortic valve surgery , she must taking some medicine , so such symptoms may be due to some medicine or allergy or urticaria .
This is an operative case ,so in my opinion should not take any medicine , rather consult operating cardiologist and get his help .
In my opinion this is not good to take medicine without consent of operating surgeon.
