Hello, Probably the rash you are having now is the same rash you had due to the allergic reaction. Steroids suppress the immune response and can settle down an allergic reaction. When you stop them, the rash may come back. You will need to identify the cause of the allergy. If it is not possible for your to pinpoint it then skin tests can be performed. Only when we avoid the offending agent (that is causing the allergic reaction), the rash will settle and you will not need to take steroids anymore. I hope this answers your query.
