Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I noticed today that the side of my thigh was ting like crazy. I was busy so I didn t take the time to look at it. Well I scratched on it all day and noticed when I got in bed that the side of my thigh has welts and bruising. Maybe I could have bruised myself scratching but that seems a little odd. But what could be wrong? The welts actually hurt.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes and bruises on the thighs which seems to be due to bacterial infection of the skin and soft tissue due to compromised immunity of your body and increased susceptibility of getting infected. It occurs mainly due to incraesed friction in that area.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply topical antibacterial ointment neosporin or gentamicin on these rashes twice daily. You should take oral painkiller as well. Mainatin complete hygiene. Wear cotton pajama's. Take oral antibiotic course of Amoxycillin 500 mg in combination with clavulanic acid 125 mg for around 1 week. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
