Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I experienced a severe attack of rashes and sores around my groin and pubic areas about a year ago. I visited the hospital where a Dermatologist after examination recommended that I buy itraconazole tablet and fungusol powder. I used this for over 3 months but the situation persisted. I continued for some time more before i saw over the internet that kerosene is a good remedy. I applied petrol on it for some time instead of kerosene because i do not have kerosene. This cleared after some time. This time around, it reoccurred with rashes in the groin and a great deal of itching. Please what I do? In both cases, my wife is pregnant.
If it is fungal infection it may take 4-6weeks time to recover. Rashes may be due to viral or bacterial or contact dermatitis etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Use tablet Fluconazole once a week for 6-8weeks. Use Candid B Cream locally. If symptoms not improved please consult your dermatologist he may take a skin biopsy and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
