What Causes Rashes Despite Using Benedryl And Zyrtec For Ringworm?

I was diagnosed with ringworm 3 weeks ago. Used anti fungal cream & pills. The rash is still here. What could this be? I am using benedryl on it now & taking Zyrtec. It seems to work for a while, then after a shower it tends to flare up again. Pity roadies roses?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes despite using Benedryl and Zyrtec for ringworm which occurs due to contact dermatitis and allergic reaction of body. I would suggest you to get hormone levels monitored. Make use of product containing benzoyl peroxide. Take Multivitamin supplements. Apply topical antibacterial ointment such as mupirocin . Drink plenty of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet. It is very important to find out causative factor beside medicine . Apply Adapalene gel once at night. Also wash your skin with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week , apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day.If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist.
