I had a shingles vaccined on Tuesday of this week. I had a reaction to the vaccine: rash, fever, headache, achiness, etc. I venture out today, and while I was out, my physician's nurse contacted me in response to my update on the reaction. At that time, she said that if the rash spots opened, I'd be contagious for chickenpox for anyone who hasn't had the pox or the varicella vaccine.
My question is that as I reacted to the info about being contagious, I realized that the rash had indeed opened while i was out and getting a hair cut. My hairdresser has a pregnant daughter, and the hairdresser herself doesn't know if she's had the chickenpox. Can she be a carrier or infect her pregnant daughter's fetus? The pregnant daughter has had the chickenpox, according to the hairdresser.
Thanks. Shelley
